Nietzsche: Parable of the Madman

I’ve always thought that Nietzsche has been misinterpreted by religionists who thought he was attacking them in some way.

Truth is, Nietzsche described the horror of a humanity that has lost its deep connection with God — which is to say, a humanity that thinks it has outgrown God and could therefore safely forget Him.

Madness is the only possible result, as Nietzsche himself discovered.

THE MADMAN—-Have you not heard of that madman who lit a lantern in the bright morning hours, ran to the market place, and cried incessantly: “I seek God! I seek God!”—As many of those who did not believe in God were standing around just then, he provoked much laughter. Has he got lost? asked one. Did he lose his way like a child? asked another. Or is he hiding? Is he afraid of us? Has he gone on a voyage? emigrated?—Thus they yelled and laughed.

The madman jumped into their midst and pierced them with his eyes. “Whither is God?” he cried; “I will tell you. We have killed him—you and I. All of us are his murderers. But how did we do this? How could we drink up the sea? Who gave us the sponge to wipe away the entire horizon? What were we doing when we unchained this earth from its sun? Whither is it moving now? Whither are we moving? Away from all suns? Are we not plunging continually? Backward, sideward, forward, in all directions? Is there still any up or down? Are we not straying, as through an infinite nothing? Do we not feel the breath of empty space? Has it not become colder? Is not night continually closing in on us? Do we not need to light lanterns in the morning? Do we hear nothing as yet of the noise of the gravediggers who are burying God? Do we smell nothing as yet of the divine decomposition? Gods, too, decompose. God is dead. God remains dead. And we have killed him.

“How shall we comfort ourselves, the murderers of all murderers? What was holiest and mightiest of all that the world has yet owned has bled to death under our knives: who will wipe this blood off us? What water is there for us to clean ourselves? What festivals of atonement, what sacred games shall we have to invent? Is not the greatness of this deed too great for us? Must we ourselves not become gods simply to appear worthy of it? There has never been a greater deed; and whoever is born after us—for the sake of this deed he will belong to a higher history than all history hitherto.”

Here the madman fell silent and looked again at his listeners; and they, too, were silent and stared at him in astonishment. At last he threw his lantern on the ground, and it broke into pieces and went out. “I have come too early,” he said then; “my time is not yet. This tremendous event is still on its way, still wandering; it has not yet reached the ears of men. Lightning and thunder require time; the light of the stars requires time; deeds, though done, still require time to be seen and heard. This deed is still more distant from them than most distant stars—and yet they have done it themselves.

It has been related further that on the same day the madman forced his way into several churches and there struck up his requiem aeternam deo. Led out and called to account, he is said always to have replied nothing but: “What after all are these churches now if they are not the tombs and sepulchers of God?”

Madman as prophet.

And yet… we are a humanity that never quite eradicated God, and are awakening to our Divine nature just at the moment of no return.

Which is why I say, it’s good to be alive in these times.

“It’s good to be alive in these times.” Yes, it is, Michael. We don’t yet have a handle on the death of God and the decades of movement from the modern to the postmodern world. And that is what is so energizing — to be a part of the movement to new ground and spirit.

  2. Brendan says:

No. Your interpretation is very wrong. Nietzsche was vigorously anti religion, and this is obvious from his works, obvious to an intelligent reader and to literally every respected scholar of the man. Have you read any more than this passage from Zarathustra? Are you truly able to read all of Zarathustra and say Nietzsche believed in God? Perhaps it will require your reading his books with less of a fictional overtone so you can hear explicitly how he feels. The best example, I’d say, is “On the Genealogy of Morals.”

Let me explain. The madman’s words are precisely how Nietzsche himself felt. The madman is not actually insane. When he spoke of the destruction of God as if it was the biggest most vicious act of murder possible, what he meant was that it wiped out THE major previous interpretation of the world. Through the madman’s words toward the people, Nietzsche is in fact mocking those who–one of whom I’ll go ahead and presume you are–think that to get rid of god is to get rid of all hope in existence. This is why he asks the people what they will do instead, now that they have killed the possibility of god. He sees that their actions, their industrial progress, their theory of evolution, their headlong leap into the future, has begun a path toward a world without god, because there is no god. And yet he sees that even they don’t see this themselves.

This was the major intention behind Nietzsche’s overall work, was the idea that this new world, where all previous values are found moot, will need to undergo a revaluation of all values. Nietzsche’s disbelief in god, and belief in something far more beautiful, are well known to anyone who gives any real time to understanding his work.

You seriously think Nietzsche, of all people, would use the term “madman” sincerely? You think he would fund the normative idea of madness versus normalcy? Not only are those of your fellow misty-eyed godly friends correct who think Nietzsche was against false beliefs, that is, against god, but they should also be afraid, and you should be afraid, unless you are prepared to take the truth armed with those testicles you were generously granted by nature and see that the beauty you’ve felt all these years did not come from god, but from the haunches of your own beautiful hide.

    • Rirl says:

You do a very good job here of accurately summarizing Nietzsche.

However, if “all previous value are found moot.” as claimed by the Madman is true, we’re in a very desperate position. Here is one basic reason why: how can the Madman then be part of anything like a “higher history?”

How would it be possible to gauge any improvement over previous values, without assuming a means to evaluate things as higher or lower — so not all the previous values are moot? The Madman — and anyone following him — assumes a previous value to even begin to gauge ‘betterness’ of the idea that God is dead relative to its alternative. A gap has been leaped, a gigantic chasm, and this view of things takes that leap it if it were nothing at all.

If you say, this is a new value and not a previous one, then you’re left even worse off: this new value is arbitrary, it’s a new god, and so while God is dead, a new god must be raised: “lanterns must now be light in the morning.”

How do you make sense of things like justice, truth, beauty, love, meaning, forgiveness, good or evil if Man (in the plural sense) is the measure of all things? You cannot. In fact, everything then reduces to questions of mere opinion or preference of individuals. This should be found incredible.

It is reported that during the second world-war, that a Jewish man being forced to dig his own grave said his Nazi dominator, “God is watching what you are doing here.” Mao-se-Tung did not believe that, nor did Stalin, or Hitler, nor Pol-Pot. Victor Frankel points out somewhere that this type of philosophy – nihilism – produced the death camps of Auschwitz and Treblinka. The secular history of the 20th and 21st centuries proves this to be so. All that is left in the end is the “will to power”: the ability to dominate other human beings simply because you can. Obviously, this is not a “higher history.”

  7. Gariban says:

    Dear Friends,

I have not finished the full translation of this document to English but I give you a small portion of my teacher’s work to explain a point which may be related to your discussion.
“Relationship amongst the Magnificient universe where we are living, and the human being, and the owner and master of the system,”Rabbul Alameen:Lord of the worlds”, has always occupied the human mind.
    What is the universe?
    Who is human being?
Who is owner of the divine power, making this system exist, maintaining ,controlling and managing it in every time , every where and every state?
Philosophy and Tasawwuf(Islamic mystisizm-Sufizm) have always come forward in seeking answers for such infinite questions by using the available concrete and abstract data.

In philosophy, taking the materialistic mentality and raw mind as a threshold, clever and very intelligent philosopher has always been in the attitude to deceive the less intellectual people and has aimed to transfer what he had(his knowledge), to the others.

However, by using the mind, and taking the knowing, understanding and living the inner world of human being in the light of “Nakl:Divine Knowlegde” as basis, “Tasawwuf” has aimed to give a voluntary service in convincing the people.

Tasawwuf has aimed to reveal(bring out),to develop and use the inborn values existing in human and being owned by human by means of teaching and education.

Now , Why did I give this example here? Let me explain.
My dear friends, since the beginning 124000 prophets and numberless amount of englightened human beings throughout the aeons have come and explained to human being these issues. They kept warning the human being about how they are tricked by their mind if the mind does not adjust it’s self to divine knowledge.
Philosophers talk philosophy and act upon their intellect only and does not analyse the books of God in humbility, whereas prophets and enlightened beings talk reality, never get insane and lost, and they are in humility in front of God. Truth is where the questions end. Philosopher’s questions do not end. Philosophy does not take the divine knowlegde as basis, and dives in to the abyss which is made of interpretation of one’s limited mind. Nietsche did that too and got lost in the illussiory darkness of his mind. He could not call himself an atheist nor he could call himself a believer. People who look in his books will experience the confusion and dilemmas he is getting through and will be lost with him in that abyss. One minute they will think he is hiddenly religious, next minute they will say he was perhaps disbeliever. That is why, I see this conflict amongst the people who are reading his books and commenting in the internet.
A philosopher look at the universe and try to get meaning out of it, and get lost , no one could get out of the trap of his own illusory intellect and his monkey mind without the divine help. There are 5 elements which are earth, water, fire, air and ether. Each represents an angel . Ether refers to our mind. Ether is called “Esir “ in turkish. Esir means prisoner. So mind prisons you by creating infinite Wheel of questions. That is why darkness in space is claimed to be ether. Without the sun of divine knowledge one gets lost in the dark there.
Philosopher is the Noah’s son who says to his father , I am not getting in to the boat , I will swim and find a high mountain to climb on. When the flood came, he got drowned in the water. There is only one safe place my friends and that is the boat of Noah. When we get arrogant by trusting our mind only, in seeking the truth, we too go and search the mountain of our ego to climb on then we also get drowned like that. May God protect us.
A muslim Saint , Dr.Munir Derman(May Allah bless him), was saying in one of his writings,
“If Allah(God) could be known by intelligence, there would be no necessity for prophets to come”.
Simply, people could figure out everything by their intelligence and they would not need the knowledge from God to learn about God. If it was possible to reach God with only intelligence, philosophers had already done this and told you the formulation of doing this. While the thousands of philosophers have kept pondering over God and universe over the ages, thousands of
faithfull servants of Allah have already succedded finding the truth in the path of religion(Din) by love of God.

Rumi(K.S) says,”you can not arrive in God by reaching to the levels of maturity in mind and intellect. Beneficience and bounty of the King does not accept any body but those who accept their inability.”

Knowledge of Human being can not be greater than God’s knowledge. Because
what human being has is from God and it is God’s knowledge(Ilm). It is
God’s knowledge which manifests in human being from the essence of human.
Human’s knowledge is a borrowed knowledge from the infinite knowledge of
Allah. So We should know that our knowledge can not comprehend the knowledge
of Allah. To show the human that what they have is from Allah and not to
think that this is from themselves, God has introduced old age.
When a person gets old, the person starts forgetting what is learned and his
memory gets weaker by the time.Every organ that the person was leaning on
starts failing and aging. There is surely a sign in this for a person to
    see.
Qur’an 36:68 “If We grant long life to any, We cause him to be reversed in
nature: Will they not then understand?”

“Do not try to prove Allah by using His creation!
Who are you trying to prove Who by saying He exists or not.
    Exists! Exists! Exists!
Try to see the power of Allah on His creations.
Trying to prove the existence of Allah is exactly the doubting.
    It is Kufr.
Asking the mind, which mind can not comprehend, is an insult to the mind.
    ” Dr.Munir Derman(K.S)

When Prophet Moses(Musa A.S) met with Hidir (PBUH) in order to learn the
knowledge of level(Ilm ul ledun)from Hidir(PBUH), they got in to a boat.
While the boat was sailing in the sea, they saw a bird which was getting a
drop of water with it’s beak from the surface of the ocean. When they saw
that, Hidir (PBUH) said to Moses(PBUH),” your knowledge and my knowledge
compared to the knowledge of Allah are not even the size of this drop which
this bird got from the whole water in this ocean with it’s beak”.

When Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was ascending (Miraj) to heavens with angel
Gabriel to meet with Allah, They came to a point then Gabriel(A.S) said “If
I go a little bit further than this point, I will burn “. A muslim saint
says “Angel Gabriel is representing the intelligence and mind”. You can go
to a particular point by using your intelligence to learn about God with an appropriate manner, but
from that point onwards you have to leave it to “love”.

Rumi(K.S) said “You need to fly with the wings of Love on this realm”
“A donkey stuck in mud is logic’s fate -Love’s nature only love can
    demonstrate.’

However, mind helps you to some point, if it is combined with your faith
and love. What Rumi mentions here by donkey logic is a raw (immature mind which is seperate from the total intellect and divine knowledge). Love mentioned here also represents the mature enlightened intellect which is connected to divine knowledge.
A thief uses his mind to design tools to rob a bank while a doctor uses his
mind to cure an illness. On first one, mind brings you a bad quality but on
second one intention and aim is good. So mind is a good tool, up to a
certain point if it is used wisely and combined with faith.

If mind is under the management of Ego(Self-Nafs) and Satan(Shaiyan), it
gets stuck within the circle of cause and effect mechanism and lose time.
Person gets confused if an awkward question comes to him and he has no
strong faith, doubt settles within the heart and prevents someone going
further in his journey. A saint says “confusion and doubt is the earthquake
of the faith”. Some can not even start a journey, because of never ending
    answers and questions.

    Saint “Inayat Khan (K.S)” says:
“The argument has been raised that all manifestation is due to the
interaction of natural elements, working by their own force; every cause
has its effect, and the effect again becomes a cause for the reaction; thus
nature works unaided. The answer is, that every cause must have some
preceding cause, or first cause, to produce it; and logically one cause may
produce many effects, which effects again become second causes, producing
new reactions, ‘While intellectual minds are seeking second causes, the
wise man only perceives the first cause. Air, earth, water, being second
causes, the precedent cause, which makes them act and pause, is hidden
.(Read this document on this link one day and you will not regret reading
    ithttp://www.sacred-texts.com/isl/msl/msl.htm)”

A man who warns the people by saying that “I saw a beatiful mountain in
such and such place. It is very nice and beautiful you should see it “.
Some people believe in this and start searching for it , passion pulls the
person closer and closer to it, He gets lost in some places but does not
give up searching and he is rewarded with seeing it in the end. Isn’t it
the belief which makes the treasure hunter to go after the treasure ? The
treasure within us is more valuable than anything else , it is nothing
    materialistic .

Another person does not believe that this mountain exists, He questions the
guy seeing it, analyses the every sentence with tweezers under the
microwordscobe. He looks at the maps and says “there is no sign of a
mountain on my map(map of his ego and mind)”. He says “Look you fool!
According to the geological structure of this area there can not be a
mountain in this area”. He loses time and produces millions of logical
statements for himself, which do not allow him to start his journey. While
others going there and seeing it, He waits for the mountain to come to him.
But when this happens he will be crushed under it !…Only logical
statement which you can make to find God at the beginning is to say “I need
to have a faith, patience, passion, love and determination, map and a
guide. Without these I can not find the treasure” then start your journey.
When Satan and Ego comes together , they effect and control the mind and
try to take it under control and confuse the person by generating new
    questions for every answers given.

In a qudthi hadith, Prophet Muhammad(PBUH) narrated from Allah(God) ”I
was a hidden treasure, so I loved to be known (Keºfu’l-hafâ, II, 132,
    hadis: 2016)”.

The one who creates us, wants us to find Him more than We want.
A saint says “the path of truth can not be found by searching but the ones
who find it, are the ones who search for it”. So Allah likes effort and
wants to see us searching sincerely.

Some People say that “Why can’t I see God with my eyes?”.
It is simple as said by God below:
Qur’an 06:103 “No vision can grasp Him, but His grasp is over all vision:
He is above all comprehension, yet is acquainted with all things. “.

Qur’an 07:143. And when Moses came to Our appointed tryst and his Lord had
spoken unto him, he said: My Lord! Show me (Thy Self), that I may gaze upon
Thee. He said: Thou wilt not see Me, but gaze upon the mountain! If it
stand still in its place, then thou wilt see Me. And when his Lord revealed
(His) glory to the mountain He sent it crashing down. And Moses fell down
senseless. And when he woke he said: Glory unto Thee! I turn unto Thee
repentant, and I am the first of (true) believers.

Qur’an 4:153. “The people of the Book ask thee to cause a book to descend
to them from heaven: Indeed they asked Moses for an even greater (miracle),
for they said: “Show us Allah in public,” but they were dazed for their
presumption, with thunder and lightning. Yet they worshipped the calf even
after clear signs had come to them; even so we forgave them; and gave Moses
    manifest proofs of authority. ”

‘Hidden things are manifested by their opposites, but as God has no
opposite He remains hidden. God’s light has no opposite in the range of
creation whereby it may be manifested to view’ (Jelal-ud-Din Rumi).

The one should not be in haste to find the truth. What we are looking for
is not an object made of earth, air, water and fire. These eyes(the ones on
our head) are made of the elements and can see only what it is supposed to
sense not everything. As well as this, God is placeless and can not be seen
with those eyes in this world. However, the eye of the heart is greater
than these eyes. Truth is something that we can reach by changing our
selves and purifying ourselves to a degree defined by Allah. So this
journey takes time and no one can get there without effort and changing
himself. Everybody has the ability to go there if they are sincere in their
attempt. However, they don’t give the treasure to every body who is looking
for out of curiousity. Who are we deceiving? The One says He is closer to
us than our jugular vein, so how can we deceive Him?

Qur’an 21:37″Man is created of haste; now will I show to you My signs,
therefore do not ask Me to hasten (them) on. ”

I don’t know if I could explain some stuff here. May ALLAH(God) forgive me for my mistakes. If there is any truth here, it is from ALLAH. Anything bad is from my own ego and I seek refuge to ALLAH from my own ego.

Hi, I write cause I want to support Brendans explanations, Its long time ago I saw someone who understand Nietzsche enough to avoid misinterpretations which are, unfortunatelly unhealthy obvious in case of this great philosopher. And by the way, one thing must be said cause people obviously dont understand that. Nietzsche NEVER attack on Gods existence. That question cant be answered and he know that very well. He attacks on Human need of entity like God in evaluating and interpretating all aspects of Human life. Not God, but Human is for him a scale of all things. He never told that Gods do not exist, he claimed that God has no essence and value for us and thats the very essence of “God is Dead. And he stays dead cause we killed him”. And thats one of the reasons why are his works absolutelly impenetrable in order to great value of criticism. In order to this, there are only two major types of people in case of their position of view on Nietzsche. 1, You understand Nietzsche and you accept all he write and even much more, cause his philosphy is more about Yourself that about some self-lie storyies which were written by someone else (like Bible, Koran, etc…) 2, You dont understand Nietzsche and you try to prove he is wrong, even if fact is that all his critics by now only prove he is right.

So long, and thanx for all the fish.

PS.: Sorry for mistakes and ovestriking, Im not native speaker and my english is not very good. Anyway I hope that those few existential touched philosophers will understand me. For others, who believe in God or whatever instead their Will I wish only the Eternal Life or Reincarnation or other blame stuff you all seek, cause its the greatest shame and torture that can exists for Human, even if you probably never realise that pack of facts about matter, reason and sence of your existence.

  10. Gariban says:

    Subhan Allah,
    There you go.
Well Michael this does not surprise me at all my friend.

Dear Rado more than a billion muslims in the world are celebrating the ramadan now, as they fasted for the love of God,
who is eternal , ever-living , who can not be killed by any body,
    who is not needy,
    who supports all his creation,
who is not a material, plant, animal or a human being, nothing like His creation, who creates and nourishes all his creation. while he does not need anything(Read more about Who God is in http://www.muhammedinur.com/modules.php?name=Content&pa=showpage&pid=3831). He does not need the worship of the people as well. If the people do it, it’s benefit is for the people, not for GOD.

These people fasted for one month to learn how to control their desires and helped the needy in the world, offered food, financial support etc to people without expecting anything back from them, while your philosopher friends were having steak in a restaurant with a bottle of vine and boosting their intellect to each other.

My friend we are not even aware of or in control of what cell is dying and what cell is created within our body in evey moment of our lives. What microbe or bacteria is attacking us and what white cell is defending us within our body. Yet we dare to claim to be the master of our intellect!…
A thousand engineers are still not able to control the machine(CERN) they built for experiment in France. We are living with a half breath(air), and if we do not have it , we will die. What is making us arogant about the books and prophets of GOD? For 1400 years, philosophers have come with a million question about Qur’an and they got their answers. What you are talking about is not a simple story book my friend.

If Nietszce or any other person claims that human beings do not need God, He is either stupid or blind not to see all of us or at sleep or drunk. We are all claiming that we are in need of HIM whether we realize it or not. In 1700’s french government went so far that they tried to wipe the religion off the public by force. But people showed them that they are in need of GOD.

    When God created intellect:

Allah has said by My power and splendour never have I created better than you(intellect) or submissive to me or noble than you. By you My unity is affirmed, by you I am worshipped, and I am called upon by you in prayer, hope is placed on me through you and I am desired through you. I am feared by you, by you is the reward and THROUGH YOU IS THE PUNISHMENT. Such is the value of intellect.

Dear Rado, from your writing it is so clear that you do not know much about those religions or books you mentioned. You are still mumbling the clieche things which you learned from your environment like Richard Dawkins who go around and give speeches to public against religions and keeps claiming that religions teach us a God who created the world in 6 days( literaly 24 hours day ) by thinking everything literally.

I don’t think that this will change anything for you but lets have a look at what God is telling in Qur’an about YOUR CLAIMS saying the prophets wrote the books by themselves or the Qur’an or Bible are the sayings of the ancients. Since you made a claim, please hear What GOD is saying to you about your claims:

Qur’an 29/48.”And thou (O Muhammad) wast not a reader of any Scripture before it, nor didst thou write it with thy right hand, for then might those have doubted who follow falsehood.” (Prophet Muhammad did not know how to read and write before Qur’an was revealed to him.)

Qur’an 2:23 And if ye are in doubt as to what We have revealed from time to
time to Our servant, then produce a Sura(chapter) like thereunto; and call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides Allah, if your (doubts) are
    true.

Qur’an 32:2 The revelation of the Scripture whereof there is no doubt is
from the Lord of the Worlds.

Qur’an 10:37.This Qur’an is not such as can be produced by other than
Allah; on the contrary it is a confirmation of (revelations) that went
before it, and a fuller explanation of the Book – wherein there is no doubt
    – from the Lord of the worlds.

Qur’an 13:19 Is then one who doth know that which hath been revealed
unto thee from thy Lord is the Truth, like one who is blind? It is those
who are endued with understanding that receive admonition;-

Qur’an 15:09.Surely We have revealed the Reminder and We will most surely
    be its guardian.
Qur’an 25:6 Say (unto them, O Muhammad): He who knoweth the secret of the heavens and the earth hath revealed it. Lo! He ever is Forgiving, Merciful.

Qur’an 29:51.Is it not enough for them that We have revealed to you the
Book which is recited to them? Most surely there is mercy in this and a
reminder for a people who believe.

Qur’an 39:41.Lo! We have revealed unto thee (Muhammad) the Scripture for
mankind with truth. Then whosoever goeth right it is for his soul, and
whosoever strayeth, strayeth only to its hurt. And thou art not a warder
    over them.

Qur’an 5:48.To thee We sent the Scripture in truth, confirming the
scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety: so judge between
them by what Allah hath revealed, and follow not their vain desires,
diverging from the Truth that hath come to thee. ……

Qur’an 07:02.A Book revealed unto thee,- So let thy heart be oppressed no
more by any difficulty on that account,- that with it thou mightest warn
(the erring) and teach the Believers).

Qur’an 07:196.”For my Protector is Allah, Who revealed the Book (from time
to time), and He will choose and befriend the righteous.
There are more on the following verses of Qur’an if someone is not satisfied (
    23:2, 46:2, 56:80, 76:23, 88:2, 17:106, 20:4 and 113, 21:50, 34:24, 25:32,26:192&193, 28:37 and 39:01).

Qur’an being the stories of ancient?:

Qur’an 16:24 When it is said to them, “What is it that your Lord has
revealed?” they say, “Tales of the ancients!”

Qur’an 8:31.When Our Signs are rehearsed to them, they say: “We have heard
this (before): if we wished, we could say (words) like these: these are
nothing but tales of the ancients.”

Qur’an 69:40 Most surely, it is the Word brought by an honored Messenger,
    41.And it is not the word of a poet; little is it that you believe;
42.Nor the word of a soothsayer; little is it that you mind.
43.It is a revelation from the Lord of the worlds.
44.And if the messenger were to invent any sayings in Our name,
45.We would certainly have seized him by the right hand,
46.And We should certainly then cut off the artery of his heart:
47.And not one of you could have withheld Us from him.
48.And lo! it is a warrant unto those who ward off (evil).
49.And lo! We know that some among you will deny (it).
50.And most surely it is a great grief to the unbelievers.
51.But verily it is Truth of assured certainty.

    With Peace and Love.

Gariban, everything you have written is based off of the collective assumptions of an ancient, uncivilized, biomechanical culture who all those millenia ago sought to explain the world through supernatural expression, rather than empirical scientific analysis.

    Hello dear friend Gariban,

Looks like it’s time for a Marin Lings post on scientism… to show how Science has become the New Religion, complete with fundamentalists who are positive that theirs is the only valid way of looking at existence.

When time allows, I will get to it….

    [Qur’an Surah Al Mumin- 40/ 82]

“Do they not travel through the earth and see what was the End of those before them? They were more numerous than these and superior in strength and in the traces (they have left) in the land: ye all that they accomplished was of no profit to them.”

    Hello Michael,
You are right my friend . There are a lot of things to write here by using science it’s self . Unfortunately the term “civilisation” is one of those terms perceived wrongly by public. They perceive this as communities which have adorned themselves with scientific, technologic devices and established big complex buildings, living in big nice houses, wearing suits at work, using sophisticated cars, and within these communities people do whatever they like as long as they can legalise it.

A life being a pipeline between the kitchen and the toillette. A scientific community working all together to analyse and improve this pipeline between the kitchen and the toillette to make sure that the life in this pipeline can be more enjoyable for themselves without cutting the base desires of their flesh and ego. And fully equipped military to make sure that this pipeline will maintain it’s condition. Well looking businessmen and trade force which are working in cooperation with their governments to find capital and finance by enslaving the poor countries in order to back up the expenses within these civilised pipelines. Plastic surgeons changing the community members’ breast size and body features and engineers improving methods and equipment to produce perfect shape bodies for the people who have complexes. Drug companies going to African Aid to advertise their company drugs not for helping people.

My friend, if I opened this pipeline here for you to reveal what is inside , I would not be able to finish listing here. That sort of civilisation is a grave with a tombstone and “civilisation” is engraved on it.

Just as human rights being perceived as”my rights” or “you can do what you like as long as you don’t limit my freedom”, the terms loose their real meaning within the communities driven by their ego. Civilisation is certainly one of those terms.

Science is not a private property of a particular group denying GOD. There are millions of religious scientists living amongst that crowd and I am one of them. Sir Isac Newton, Louis Pastor and many other well known scientists within the history were also religious. You may not know this because we do not label ourselves within the public as Christian or Muslim, or try to own the science like the others do. We know our limits. But for those who think that non religious people are the ones who made the advancement in science, I would advise them to have a look at that link :

    http://www.cyberistan.org/islamic/sciencehistory.htm

Science is a manifestation of the knowledge of GOD who is AL-ALEEM(All knower) and it should be used in a good way not in the way of ego. When we study and work and if ALLAH wishes, ALLAH can manifest (Makes tajalli)with this name and we see the result as learning, understanding or discovering something. In reality our knowledge is HIS knowledge not ours. A simple crack within a vein in our brains can cause all our knowledge to go in a second then we become a walking vegetable. So fear GOD and remember this always.

Real knowing is to know one’s self . Real knowledge is divine knowledge. Other knowledge is only a necessity to survive and maintain one’s life and should come second compared to divine knowledge. Human does not even know what is going on within his body or he is not in control of his own body and mind, yet he thinks that he is the governor of the universe.

The pharoh was given magnificient knowledge about various things but his knowledge did not save him. He took him self as GOD. ALLAH is speaking to those who boost their technology and civilisation in Qur’an :

“Do they not travel through the earth and see what was the End of those before them? They were more numerous than these and superior in strength and in the traces (they have left) in the land: ye all that they accomplished was of no profit to them.” [Qur’an Surah Al -Mumin- 40/ 82]

A sufi shaikh Inayat Khan says:
The argument has been raised that all manifestation is due to the interaction of natural elements, working by their own force; every cause has its effect, and the effect again becomes a cause for the reaction; thus nature works unaided. The answer is, that every cause must have some preceding cause, or first cause, to produce it; and logically one cause may produce many effects, which effects again become second causes, producing new reactions, ‘While intellectual minds are seeking second causes, the wise man only perceives the first cause. Air, earth, water, being second causes, the precedent cause, which makes them act and pause, is hidden.’
We do not get stuck within second causes, we try to see beyond without being veiled by our ego.

Mr.Pliskin, empirical data comes from the experiments and analysis by making measurements using physical tools. What is examined, and the tools used, are made of the elements , air, earth, fire, water and ether. What do you think GOD is, or faith is? What are you measuring my friend? Are they some sort of a substance that you can put and analyse in the lab conditions. Where did you get that idea? Are you trying to find the painter in the paint?
Hidden things are manifested by their opposites, but as God has no opposite He remains hidden. God’s light has no opposite in the range of creation whereby it may be manifested to view’ (Jelal-ud-Din Rumi).
The tool to perceive GOD is the heart, but not the heart which is within your chest. That organ is only a station of the spiritual heart. If you want to perceive what we perceive, get your heart calibrated my scientific friend. Calibration of your heart is to make the heart rightly distinguish what is good and what is evil. If your scale is measuring wrongly, either calibrate it or be quiet as your measurements will bring calamity to humanity .
Our words are not to the scientists who know their limits.
    With Peace and love

  15. dhess says:

God brought His words as light in this world..But it seems that others can not recognize it. This madman is seeking God and it is shameful and hard to accept that those who are intelligent or well-stated-mind are the one who can not acknowledge who God is. We killed God, for He suffered at the cross because of our sins.
What’s the purpose of going in the church?
Well in fact, we are not following His words and many are still committing sins against Him.
If we will judge the Christians behavior, God must be dead; If He were not, then those who believe in him would not dare to misbehave so abominably.

  16. adreampuppet says:

    dhess:

Thanks for dropping in, and for offering your take on “this madman.”

I’m coming to the conclusion that I don’t “get” Nietzsche the way the philosophical fundamentalists want me to “get” him, so I may be better off refraining from projecting myself onto Nietzsche’s words.

  17. Gariban says:

Don’t worry about God and Jesus(PBUH) my friend , They are already alive. We should think about ourselves. We are the one who is being crucified at the moment. It is us who are on the cross. We are nailed in this body with 5 nails. 5 elements (air, water, fire and earth and ether) are used to nail us in this realm. We can not get out of the illusions and desires caused by the elements yet.

God can not be killed , don’t worry, as God is “Al-Hayy: The Alive, eternal, ever lasting life”. When God dies no one else can support the both spiritual and material worlds, and surely you would not be able to read this writing. There is no adjective or name of God saying God can die and get resurrected? God is wajibulwujud: His existence is an obligation and his existence is from Himself. He does not depend on anything. He is not a physical object which can perish. Existence of God is obligatory, and existence of everything depends upon Him. From prophets to angels, to satan, existence of every creation depends upon Him. As He is the creator of everything.

Qur’an [2/255] : Allah! there is no god but He, the LIVING, the SELF SUBSISTING, ETERNAL. No slumber can seize him nor heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in his presence except as he permitteth? he knoweth what (appeareth to his creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of his knowledge except as he willeth. His throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and he feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for he is the most high, the supreme (in glory).

Qur’an [25/58] :”And put thy trust in Him Who LIVES and DIES NOT; and celebrate his praise; and enough is He to be acquainted with the faults of His servants;”

When it comes to Jesus, God says to us about his crucifiction:

Qur’an [4/157]: That they said (in boast), “We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah”- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not-

When it comes to paying for the Sins of another person:

Qur’an [35/18]. Nor can a bearer of burdens bear another’s burden. If one heavily laden should call another to (bear) his load, not the least portion of it can be carried (by the other), even though he be nearly related. Thou canst but admonish such as fear Their Lord unseen and establish regular Prayer. And whoever purifies himself does so for the benefit of his own soul; and the destination (of all) is to Allah.

Paradise is not that cheap I’am afraid!!! When some people searched for a way to legalise our wrong doings on earth, they first stitched the Adam’s sin on to Eve, then this was not enough for them, they stitched everybody’s sins on to GOD and turned the prophet of God to an imaginary GOD, crucified him on the cross and said he was dead, after that they resurrected their imaginary GOD again. Now they say everyone should believe in this because their imaginary God sacrificed himself for the sins of humanity.

Dear friends, lets get serious ,we humans can not get away with this that cheaply and easily.

Qur’an [4/79]. Whatever good, (O man!) happens to thee, is from Allah; but whatever evil happens to thee, is from thy (own) soul. And We have sent thee as a Messenger to (instruct) mankind. And enough is Allah for a witness.

One of the most important sacrifices which were told to us in the history of mankind, was the sacrifice of Prophet Abraham(PBUH). He attempted to sacrifice of his son and angel Gabriel came up with a sheep instead of his son. Prophet Abraham (PBUH) was loving his son so much that he had started to be unjust to the other people because of loving his son so much.
He was not commanded by His lord to sacrifice his son physically but he saw this in his dream. He should have commented on his dream but instead he took the meaning of dream as an order to sacrifice his son physically and attempted to sacrifice him. In fact , him seeing his son being sacrificed by him was a sign to tell him he must cut the ties which cause him to be unjust with the other people because of his excessive love for his son.

We should understand that we can not get away by finding an imaginary God to sacrifice!..It is the desires of our own body and ego(nafsanic desires) which we need to sacrifice… It is the injusticeness, arrogancy, greediness, telling lie, selfishness etc. …… which we need to sacrifice. This incident happened to show us this… That is why we are in the week of sacrificing Eid(Celebration) as muslims to express what the real sacrifice is to the world…

When it comes to the Mad Man , he died and we shall taste death too. We are not judging or saying he will go to hell or paradise as it is God’s decision and we can not know that. But I would not agree with everything he says about God and do not follow him in life or want anybody to fall in to the traps of philosophy as I explained the reasons above :

Qur’an 21/35. Every soul must taste of death, and We try you with evil and with good, for ordeal. And unto Us ye will be returned.

Qur’an 29/57. Every soul will taste of death. Then unto Us ye will be returned.

If the death was to be perished, Qur’an would not use the term”taste of death”. This means it is an experience which human soul will go through.
    What will happen then?

Qur’an [56/60].We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated.
[56/61].From changing your Forms and creating you (again) in (Forms) that ye know not.

Lets now, look at our own lives and try to remove the effects of those nails from ourselves because we shall surely taste the inevitable one day. We would like to free ourselves from the effect of the desires of our ego(self) and we must submit our selves to ALLAH and His Rasul,”Messenger”(PBUH) while we are alive before our term finishes on the earth, and die within the state of pure faith while we can…If I offended anybody, May Allah forgive me for this.

    Allah knows best.

Don’t upset, do not be upset, love and be loved

God is dead, we killed him, and if he is still alive… I have a shotugun !!! … reading and discusing Nietzsche is not for pussies, if you believe in god, the father, the son, alha, budha etc. etc. etc. please stay inside your little book that will teach you from how to wipe your butt to how and when to masturbate… if you have some balls read Nietzsche… try to face the world without holding hands from dead and buried gods. Ignorant sheep will still be sheep even if their books are 10 million years old, follow your flock, worship your god live by stupid 1000 year old rules and try to justify your stupidity… I sodomize your morality and live free… no rules, no gods …. I AM A WOLF!!! and I don’t give a rat ass about your stupid faith. Nietzsche is for those who dream of the übermensch… those who understand the gods are dead and falsehood and mediocrity will fill the world until it explodes. The new men will only appear from the scorched ground left… praise for the destruction of all faith.. that is not the übermensch…. is the arrow aiming at him… pray for the collapse of decadent morality, that is the leap forward….
